President's Message

Ah, fall… Definitely on my top ten list of favorite things about living in Aroostook County; comfortable temperatures, fall hikes, beautiful colors and the spoils of harvest. Our local chapter has a lot of great events planned this fall!
In the month of September, is a lunch and learn event entitled “Time management, just in time for fiscal year end.” During this presentation, chapter secretary Erica McKnight and I talk about how to work smarter, not harder. As we all know, September is the best month to kick start some new time management personal strategies or dust off some old ones and begin them again.
Our chapter has been working on a new membership incentive program. This program pays you cash toward next year’s membership dues or virtual certificates that can be cashed in for some terrific AGA merchandise to get involved in chapter events. We’ll have more information about this program soon, which will be located on the chapter website. Look for a brochure listing the AGA merchandise you could earn.
In October our chapter will host the first quarter membership meeting of the FY11-12 program year. During this meeting, we’ll discuss some of the programs and events we’ve been planning so far this year and what we have in store for the months to come. We’ll also hear about the National PDC that was held in Atlanta in July from Regional Vice President, Linda Gover.
Planning has begun for the annual joint AGA/ASMC Fall Symposium. This year, the symposium will be held at the Northern Maine Community College on Wednesday, November 9th. We have a great program planned, so be sure to save the date. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about relevant financial topics and network. More information will be released soon.
As a final note, I would like to thank you for being a valued member of a great organization. I encourage you to participate in events that interest you. I also encourage you to provide feedback to ensure the chapter is providing the benefits you expect as a member. Working together is the most effective way to make the Aroostook County chapter the best it can be.
